Mantis

Just a few days after I got my macro lens, I saw this tiny praying mantis on the side rail of our back porch. This thing was seriously tiny. Probably about the size of my thumbnail. It chilled for a while and let me get a couple of decent pictures.

It’s a little grainy, likely due to a high iso setting to compensate for the macro lens, but I actually don’t mind it in this case. The grain adds a subtle texture to the swirling colors in the background.
