I did it!

According to the goals originally set for this site, it is now functionally complete. This is one of the few projects I can actually say that about! This means that I can write posts like this one, upload photos, upload music, and embed them into these posts:

The whole thing is still fairly barebones, but I’ve also managed to implement a tagging system. To save on costs, photos appear in progressively lower resolutions the smaller they appear on the page. Clicking on the photos will link to the full-resolution JPEG.

I expect the next steps to be further organize things, with proper pagination, lazy loading, sorting options, etc. Static site generation with hugo means my options for these things are a bit limited, which in my case is often a good thing.

What now?

I expect to continue uploading new photos and music on a semi-regular basis. Most of the music I upload will likely be what I’m calling sketches, meaning they’re recorded directly during my solo jam sessions with no post-processing, and are often the result of experimentation with no concrete planning. Just some weird stuff that I think sounds cool. Anything more intentional will probably have an accompanying post in this section of the site.

Oh, and I do still have plans to write some posts that are actually about things. We’ll see how that pans out. I have a pathological fear of writing, and I think forcing myself to do it might be good for me.
